Great question! Here are the 3 most important questions to ask a realtor before hiring them to sell your home:

1) Ask how many listings they have in the area.
2) Ask for a competitive market analysis, to show what has sold or in contract within the the last six months. In addition, ask what is currently on the market, and how long has it been on the market.
3) Ask the agent for a marketing plan in writing, which will specify how he or she will be marketing your home. For example, dates of open houses, publications that he or she will be using, will direct mailings be incorporated, and are there any other tools they find to be instrumental in marketing your home.
